Bridging The Tongues Festival 2021 / “Tandem Reading” with Loulou Omer & Mandakini Pachauri

As part of the Sprachwechsel Kollective’s literary festival, Bridging The Tongues 2021, dedicated to multilingual literature, Loulou Omer was invited to perform a tandem reading with Mandakini Pachauri.

The concept of the “Tandem Reading” envisages the two multilingual authors presenting their own texts together and then reflecting on literary multilingualism.

By comparing languages and voices, the similarities as well as the special features of multilingual writing are to be emphasized. The innovations of individual authors are also better expressed in this way, since the proximity makes it easier to compare motifs and styles, influences and discrepancies and enables a better understanding.
